Foods and Fibre Term 2
This term in Foods and Fibre Year 7 students have been creating a pot-holder using cross-stitch skills. There has been a lot of creativity and everyone has definitely improved their sewing skills
Year 8 students have been busy in the kitchen learning skills and creating a variety of dishes including Mexican tortillas. Most foods are eaten at the end of the cooking time so the students can enjoy what they have made.
The Hospitality class has been busy honing their Barista skills and making a variety of sweet and savoury foods which are sold to staff to help raise funds to go toward subsidising a certified Barista course which will be offered later in the term
The Year 9-10 Foods class has been “Around the World” this term, starting in China with Chicken and Corn soup and making their way through Mexico, Italy, France, Wales and Thailand. Panna cotta with Raspberry Coulis was a definite crowd favourite.
