We had our first meeting for Term 2 on Monday evening. I'm very pleased to welcome Janet Mackenzie (AKA Dr Mac) onto the committee. She makes up our 11th and final member, and we are very excited that we now have representation from teachers in both the primary and high school spaces. 

Our discussions this week included:

• A recent grant from the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden fund, which is a great step towards our plans to build a kitchen garden and sustainable FOGO composting. 
• The new recycle rewards program: we are hoping to support the school to become a donation partner, and to also be in a position to recycle the products used at school. 
• Plans for a school event: there is a lot to organise, but we are really keen to make this a reality to help celebrate Penguin 150.
• The Sensory Garden, which is a work in progress. Thank you to those who have already made donations in both materials and time - there is lots happening to make this a brilliant space for our students to regulate. 

Thank you to the individuals who offered to help run a democracy sausage barbeque. We couldn't muster enough help to pull it off, but it was great to have the CLC being used by the community. 

Although our committee is now full we have plenty of space and tasty treats for observers. Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday 2nd June, 5:15pm.
