Social

The Penguin District School Student Board, together with staff, will conduct a term school social for Years 7-12 on Wednesday, 19 November. It will commence at 6:30 pm and finish at 8:30 pm. It will be held in the secondary campus drama room. This is a great opportunity for all students to mix informally in a safe environment, whilst enjoying great music and dancing.

 

An invitation is extended to all current Year 7-12 Penguin District School students who are meeting their responsibilities of appropriate behaviour and attendance. Non-attendance at school on Wednesday, 19 November and/or repeated absences prior to this date, may result in a student losing the privilege of attending this fantastic event. 

 

The cost of admission will be $3.00 and can be paid on the night of the social. Correct change would be appreciated. Drinks will be sold for $2.00 each and will include both soft drink and bottled water. Chocolates and other snacks will also be available for sale for $2.00 each. The theme for the social is ‘Halloween’ – where students can dress as anything Halloween based) and students are encouraged to dress up in theme, but this is not compulsory. All students are still required to wear neat and appropriate clothing – no bikini tops or similar, as well as no bare feet.

Conditions:

  • All students will be required to wear appropriate footwear.
  • Students will not be admitted after 6:45pm, nor permitted to leave before 8:25pm (unless prior arrangements are made).
  • Parents/guardians are asked to collect their child no later than 8:30 pm.
  • Penguin District School behaviour management processes will be followed.
  • High standards of behaviour are expected. Students behaving in an unacceptable manner will be sent home. Security will be on site for the duration of the social.
  • This social is an alcohol and drug free event. A bag search will be conducted prior to students entering the area. In the event students are suspected of consuming alcohol/drugs before the social, they will be immediately excluded with follow up consequences based on our school behaviour management plan.
  • Students will NOT be permitted to bring their own drinks/drink bottles with them.
  • A cloakroom will operate from 6:15 pm-6:30 pm and from 8:25 pm - 8:35 pm.
  • We discourage the use of mobile phones at the social where filming is not permitted.
